Nigerian music icon Davido, this week released a visual, sharing it on Instagram with a short caption for his fans.
In the new video, “From us to you,” he wrote, before telling followers to sit back and enjoy the music.
The video opens on a huge portrait of the couple, with Davido standing in front of it as he performs the track.
It’s a bold way to set the tone, and it makes clear from the first frame that this isn’t a love song with a hired model in the lead role.
Chioma, known to many as Chef Chi, then steps into the frame in a Victorian-styled gown. Davido matches her in a coordinated outfit, and the pair lean fully into the period costume look.
Later the mood loosens up. Chioma takes the wheel of a red convertible while Davido rides shotgun, still singing “Already Falling” as they cruise along with no fuss and no big set pieces.
For longtime followers, this feels like a full circle moment. Back in 2018, Davido put Chioma in the video for “Assurance,” the song he released around her birthday, and it quickly became one of the most talked about romantic tracks in Afrobeats at the time.
A lot has happened since then. The couple went through the devastating loss of their son Ifeanyi in 2022, welcomed twins the following year, and held their much publicised wedding in Lagos in June 2024, an event fans branded “CHIVIDO.”
That history is why a video like this lands the way it does. Some fans see it as a couple who have been through real pain choosing to share their joy openly, and the beard moment has been passed around as proof of how comfortable they look together.
