The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has confirmed an explosion that occurred at approximately 17:50 hours on 10 December 2025 near the Tebijor, Okpele, Ikpopo communities in the Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State.
Reports say that the unfortunate explosion was confirmed in a statement on Thursday night by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd., Andy Odeh.
NNPCL stated that preliminary assessments show a pressure drop on an NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC) pipeline, indicating a loss of containment.
