LPPC Suspends Mike Ozekhome From SAN Rank

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has suspended prominent lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, from the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The suspension is pending the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings against him.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi, said the decision was taken during the committee’s 173rd general meeting held on June 23.

According to the LPPC, the disciplinary action was approved pursuant to Paragraph 26(6) of the Guidelines for the Conferment of the Rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The committee noted that the suspension will remain in force pending the final determination of the case by its disciplinary and ethics sub-committee, as well as other related proceedings.
