Nigerian international Ademola Lookman began his new move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid with a super goal in their Copa del Rey match on Thursday, 5th February, 2026.
The 28-year-old Super Eagles striker netted a goal and made an assist in the match against Real Betis, as Atlético breezed into a 3–0 lead in the Copa del Rey quarter-final encounter.
The Nigerian scored Atlético’s third goal in the 37th minute with a trademark finish, following an opener from David Hancko in the 12th minute and Giuliano Simeone’s strike in the 30th minute.
Atlético coach Diego Simeone had hinted on Wednesday at the possibility of handing Lookman his debut in the fixture.
