Today, we celebrate the life of a man whose journey enriched our culture, shaped our values, and strengthened our collective identity.

Chief Oyewo was not just an actor, not just an academic — he was a custodian of character, a teacher of virtue, and a mirror through which millions of us learned what it means to live with dignity.

Though I am not related to him by blood, his life touched mine in ways that only true cultural giants can.

Through his work on stage, on screen, and in the classroom, he modeled good values, good character, humility, contentment, strength, and courage.

He showed us that greatness is not loud; it is steady. It is not boastful; it is rooted in purpose. It is not self-seeking; it is poured out in service to others.

Chief Oyewo lived as a man who understood the weight of legacy. He carried himself with the quiet confidence of one who knew that culture is preserved not only by words, but by the life one lives.

His contributions helped shape the moral compass of generations — including mine — and his influence will continue to echo through the Yoruba nation and beyond.

As we honor him today, we thank God for the gift of his life. We thank God for the values he embodied. And we thank God for the seeds he planted in all of us who watched him, learned from him, and admired him.

May the good Lord grant him restful rest, peaceful and complete.
May his memory remain a blessing.
May his legacy continue to inspire.
And may his family and all who loved him be comforted by the God of all grace.
