There are indications that the peace deal between the United States of America and Iran is yet to get a concrete solution.

US President Donald Trump said his administration would take its time over any possible agreement with Iran, signalling that a breakthrough in the months-long conflict was not yet close despite rising expectations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had instructed US representatives not to hurry negotiations with Tehran.

He also stated that the US blockade on Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz would remain in place until a formal agreement is “reached, certified, and signed”.

The latest development occurred after earlier reports from camps of US President Donald Trump and the Iranian government claimed a deal would be “announced soon”, as there are hopes the the Straight of Hormuz will be reopened shortly.

According to Donald Trump’s top diplomat Marco Rubio, who spoke earlier on Sunday, there’s a chance of “good news” on the Strait of Hormuz in the next few hours of Sunday, 24th May, 2026.
