Nigerian rising musician, Burna Boy has generated more than $40.9 million from major concerts, the highest recorded by an African artist, as he becomes the first from the continent to reach 60 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
On 3rd August 2026, he announced his third live performance at the London stadium, making him the only artist in Africa to perform at that stadium for a record 3rd time.
The figures are based on compiled concert revenue data from 49 of the highest-grossing shows by African artists across global venues, which together brought in about $61.6 million.
Burna Boy accounted for $43.26 million from 29 concerts, representing over 70 percent of total revenue and nearly 60 percent of all performances listed.
The concentration of earnings around a single artist highlights the uneven distribution of revenue within Africa’s global touring market.
His highest-grossing shows were held in Europe’s largest venues, where demand for African music has continued to expand.
London Stadium generated $6.147 million, followed by Stade de France with $4.528 million and Paris La Défense Arena with $2.86 million.
These remain the three highest-grossing concerts by an African artist.
