The principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, Mrs Rachael Alamu, has clarified why one of her first questions after surviving a gruelling 56-day kidnapping ordeal was about the whereabouts of her personal vehicle.

She explained that her primary reason for asking about her car shortly after her rescue was that she assumed the police had safely recovered and towed it.

She later discovered that the kidnappers had driven the vehicle to a different location and set it ablaze. She provided more context regarding the vehicle and her harrowing 56-day captivity ordeal:The Car: Alamu assumed the police secured the vehicle on the day of the abduction, but someone later showed her the burned-out shell of the car in a completely different area from where they were taken.

The Abduction & Rescue: Alamu, alongside dozens of teachers and pupils, were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15, 2026, and spent 56 days enduring repeated nighttime forest treks to evade security forces before finally being rescued.Ordeal in Captivity: During captivity, the victims suffered harsh weather and constant threats.

The kidnappers beat the youngest children to keep them quiet and even killed two of their colleagues to pressure the government.Current Status: The rescued individuals were formally handed over to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan.
