Iran has vowed to ‘severely’ respond with the deployment Of 1million troops as the US warships near Hormuz.

It was gathered in a post shared on X, al-Fiqar claimed that warships were approaching the strategic waterway and vowed a forceful response.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated further after Iranian military official, Ibrahim al-Fiqar, issued a stark warning about an imminent military confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post shared on X, al-Fiqar claimed that warships were approaching the strategic waterway and vowed a forceful response.

He is the spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, coordinating media and operational messaging for the IRGC and regular army.

“Warships are approaching Hormuz, we will deal with them severely,” he wrote. “If America starts a ground war, we are going to deploy one million of our troops.”

The threat comes amid rising hostilities following the collapse of high-level diplomatic talks between Iran and the United States in Islamabad, Pakistan.

As previously reported, negotiations between both countries ended in a deadlock after over 20 hours of discussions failed to produce any agreement.

Iran maintained a firm stance, particularly on the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route.

In a defiant statement, Iran’s embassy signalled that Tehran rejected U.S. demands outright, declaring that Washington had sought concessions it could not achieve through military means.

On the American side, Vice President JD Vance, who led the U.S. delegation, confirmed that talks were extensive but ultimately unsuccessful.

“The simple fact is that we need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon,” Vance said, adding that the lack of agreement was “bad news for Iran.”

The breakdown of negotiations has intensified fears of military escalation, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital corridor for global oil shipments. Iran’s continued restriction of access to the waterway has already drawn sharp criticism from U.S. officials.

U.S. President Donald Trump had warned of possible military consequences should diplomacy fail.

“Iran is doing a very poor job, dishonorable some would say, of allowing Oil to go through the Strait of Hormuz. That is not the agreement we have!” Trump said.

He also issued a stern warning against reports that Iran might be imposing fees on vessels transiting the strait.

“There are reports that Iran is charging fees to tankers going through the Hormuz Strait — They better not be and, if they are, they better stop now!” he warned.

With negotiations now stalled and rhetoric intensifying on both sides, the outcome of the Islamabad talks appears to have pushed the crisis into a more precarious phase, raising fresh concerns over the prospects of renewed confrontation in the region.
