Manchester City on Sunday evening defeated Arsenal by 2-0 to win the 2026 English Football League (EFL) cup.

Nico O’Reilly scored two headers in four minutes to give Manchester City their eighth League Cup.

Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga found himself in trouble early on in the second half when he left his area to go after a long ball, but was beaten to it by Jeremy Doku and tangled with the City man.

The Arsenal goalkeeper was given a yellow card for the awkward challenge, and will then have been relieved to watch Antoine Semenyo’s free kick fly over everyone.

He had no such luck 10 minutes later when made his second error of the half, failing to make the simple catch from Rayan Cherki’s cross and allowing Nico O’Reilly to head in the opener.

O’Reilly scored again to see City cruise to the podium for yet another trophy triumph.
