Super Eagles of Nigeria and Galatasaray’s striker, Victor Osimhen has popped up on the transfer list of Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
The move by Barcelona is coming just as Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek declared that Osimhen does not have a release clause in his contract with the Turkish champions.
According to The Athletic, the reigning La Liga champions’ sporting director Deco plans to sign Osimhen in the summer in place of Robert Lewandowski, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.
Only recently, former Barcelona star, Thierry Henry, said the Catalan giants needed a top-level striker like Osimhen.
The 27-year-old former African Player Of the Year has a contract with the Turkish champions Galatasaray until June 2029.
There is no release clause on Osimhen’s contract as Galatasaray President restated recently, but it is believed the Istanbul giants’ valuation of the striker is around 150 million euros after they bought him from Napoli last year for half that price.
Speaking to Fanatik, Ozbek dismissed speculation linking Osimhen with Juventus and Bayern Munich, insisting that his deal contains no provision that would allow him to leave for a pre-arranged fee.
