A report monitored on Ireporter says Nollywood actress Ajara Lasisi, widely known as Aunty Ajara, has passed away after a prolonged battle with liver disease.

The actress had reportedly been critically ill, prompting colleagues including Wunmi Toriola, Foluke Daramola, and Mama Nonetwork, among others, to appeal to the public for financial support to aid her treatment.

The announcement of her death was made on Thursday via Instagram by fellow actor TeeMony, who expressed gratitude to those who offered prayers, encouragement, and assistance during her illness.

In the post, he described Aunty Ajara’s struggle as “long and courageous” and thanked well-wishers for their support, while also requesting that no further donations be sent as they were no longer required.

TeeMony extended condolences to her family, friends, and the wider public, noting the immense love and compassion shown to the late actress.

He concluded the post by praying for her soul to rest in perfect peace.
